1.  Write the word "clergy" above Bishops, priests, and deacons.  It is the first box.  Then write the words "and" after baptized and "confirmed" before Catholics.  Underline, "All baptized and confirmed Catholics share in the common priesthood.

2.  Next box underneath:  Underline, "Men are ordained....person of Christ."

3.  Read the information in the next box, but nothing needs to be underlined.

4.  In the next box underneath:  Underline, "During ordination,...with chrism."

5.  Last box in left column:  Underline, "Celebrating the....greatest privilege."

6.  Next column to the right (top box):  Just read the info.

9.  Next box underneath:  Add words, "read Gospel" after "Homily".  Then  underline, "Deacons assist priests....a Homily, read Gospel."

Pronoun Unit test tomorrow.

writingWRITING HOMEWORK:

Please think over which of these questions would be the best writing prompt for the opinion essay.

  1. What school subject is most important for kids to learn?
  2.  Is it better to have siblings or to be an only child?
  3.  Should students be assigned homework?
  4. What is one thing about your school that needs to change?
  5. Do students still need to learn cursive handwriting?
  6. Would students perform better if more schools were single-gender rather than co-ed?
  7. What is the very best way to spend an unexpected day off from school and why is it the best?

When choosing the topic, all six of these rules should be met:

1.  You must be really interested in the topic.

2.  You must have a clear opinion about the topic.

3.  The topic is relevant (people could actually debate it).

4.  The topic is important (If everyone agreed with you, it would impact society in a positive way.).

5.  May people have different opinions about this topic (If mostly everyone agreed with you, why write about it?).

* 6.  You are able to find information (including facts) that support your topic and opinion (This is important, because you will be writing an essay about the topic.)   You will need to have three strong reasons and facts to back up why you feel this way (do not support your opinion with more opinions).

* You may want to look up your topic to see if you can find enough information/facts to support your opinion.  You should bullet point your support.
