Earning her B.A in Comprehensive Music Education with a concentration in voice, Mrs. Swartzentruber (aka Ms. S) graduated Magna Cum Laude from Delaware State University.

Ms. Swartzentruber is a seasoned elementary and middle school music educator and has 15+ years of experience. She teaches elementary general music, beginning band, and middle school band and chorus.

In addition to her teaching schedule, she facilitates the school’s drumline, marching band, and Tri-M National Junior Music Honor Society, as well as prepares students for All-State auditions and Honors Ensembles.

For many years, her passion for excellent music did not stop with her duties as a schoolteacher. She has served as a church bell choir director for 11 years (serving as a state chair for the Handbell Musicians of America), a church music director for three years, the Artistic Director for the Delaware Youth Chorale for six years, and sang with the Delaware Choral Society and Kent Chamber Choir.

Professional memberships have included: ACDA (American Choral Directors Association), NAfME (National Association of Music Educators), DMEA (Delaware Music Educators Association), HMA Area III (Handbell Musicians of America), and KCMEA (Kent County Music Educators Association).

Mrs. Swartzentruber is “Mom” to four grown children and “G”ma to her grandchild. Her time is now spent loving God by loving people wherever they are, wherever the day takes her.
