Pflaum Gospel Weeklies

Our program offers an at home connection:

The Gospel At Home

This simple resource connects you to your child(ren)’s lesson each week. Designed for busy families, The Gospel At Home provides a short description of the Sunday Gospel plus suggested activities and discussion starters for each age level. These easy-to-do ideas will bring families together to share what each member has learned about the Gospel that they heard on Sunday. Visit:  http://www.pflaumweeklies.com/parents/

About Our Program

The Holy Cross Parish Religious Education program provides ongoing Catholic religious education for children in Kindergarten through Grade 8 who do not attend Catholic School. We provide instruction in the Catholic faith,as well as, help the students mature spiritually with the goal of forming life long disciples of Christ.

The Religious Education Office is located on the second floor of the Early Learning Center. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am through 4:00 pm.

On-campus religious education classes take place in the Holy Cross Elementary School. Parents may choose from the options listed below. The Holy Cross Elementary School Office is used as a base of operation by the Director when RE classes are in session.

Religious education is basically a volunteer program. To accommodate the youth we serve we need dedicated volunteers. Families in the program are expected to give their time, talent and treasure to assure its success. Please note that all volunteers must have a cleared background check. We can help you with that process. Please contact the Director for more information on how you can help “spread the Good News!”

Fee schedule:
1 child—$150
2 children—$260
3 children—$340
4 children—$400
5 or more children—$400 plus $60 additional fee for each child registered

Children in First Reconciliation and First Communion preparation are assessed an additional $60 per child registered.

To families with financial hardship, financial aid is available. Please contact the Religious Education Office with your needs.

First Reconciliation and First Communion preparation usually takes place in our Level 2 program. In addition to the child attending the regular classes, the families are expected to attend the following:  Parent Preparation Meetings, First Reconciliation Parent/Candidate Day of Reflection; First Communion Parent/Candidate Retreat Day.  First Reconciliation usually takes place in winter.  First Communion usually takes place in Spring .

To be eligible for Confirmation preparation, students must  have already completed Levels 7 & 8.

RCIA adapted for Children classes are provided for children in grades 3-8 who have not received the Sacraments of Baptism, Penance, or First Communion and are held on Sundays. Please contact the Religious Education Office, if you are interested in enrolling in these classes.
