Three-Year-Old PreKindergarten

Centering around the Catholic faith, our 4-day-a-week, 3-hour program focuses on developing; an awareness of God, a positive self-image as a child formed in God's image, a sense of security, and Pre-K4 preparedness.  Students will be introduced to the Holy Cross School Early Learning Center environment, as their first step into a school setting.  Daily activities will focus on prayer, developing fine motor skills, gross motor skills, language development, and social skills.

  • Faith Formation:   Students are introduced to prayer, symbols, and images of the Catholic faith.  Stories of God's Love are used to teach Bible stories.
  • Letter Formation:  The Handwriting Without Tears program provides students with a tactile experience in forming and identifying letters.
  • Readiness Skills:  "Letter of the Week" activities are used to develop fine motor skills and language development.  Students participate in structured and unstructured play to encourage social interaction.  Math skills are introduced through sorting, counting, color, and shape activities.  Literature is used to develop listening and comprehension skills.
