Eligibility Requirements for Tuition Rates

To be considered for the Catholic—Active Holy Cross Parish rate, for at least one year, you must be:
  • properly registered in Holy Cross Parish;
  • actively practicing your Catholic faith as evidenced by Sunday attendance at Mass;
  • participating in the sacramental life of the parish;
  • sharing your time and talent by involvement in school and parish activities;
  • supporting the parish through the use of:
    • weekly church envelopes,
    • Faith Direct electronic giving,
    • or other contributions that are specifically identifiable; and
  • making tuition payments as agreed in your payment plan.

When considering the amount to contribute to Holy Cross Parish, please keep in mind it is the weekly contribution of your fellow parishioners that enables the parish to subsidize the school budget thereby keeping tuition affordable.

Properly registered families who fail to fulfill these expectations during the year lose their Catholic—Active Holy Cross Parish discounted rate and must pay the Catholic—Other Parish rate.  Continued failure to meet these expectations will jeopardize their child’s continued enrollment at Holy Cross School.

To be considered for the Catholic—Other Parish rate, you must be:
  • properly registered in your parish, for which we will contact your parish to verify;
  • actively practicing your Catholic faith as evidenced by Sunday attendance at Mass;
  • participating in the sacramental life of your parish;
  • sharing your time and talent by involvement in school and parish activities;
  • supporting your parish through the use of:
    • weekly church envelopes or
    • other contributions that are specifically identifiable; and
  • making tuition payments as agreed in your payment plan.

Families who fail to fulfill these expectations during the year lose their Catholic—Other Parish discounted rate and must pay the Non-Catholic rate.  Continued failure to meet these expectations will jeopardize their child’s continued enrollment at Holy Cross School.
_______________________________________________________________________________________

If you are a Catholic but not registered in a local Catholic parish or a Non-Catholic, you will be charged the Non-Catholic rate.  We expect you will make all tuition payments as agreed in your payment plan.  We also expect you to volunteer your time and talent to Holy Cross School.

Families who fail to fulfill this minimum expectation during the year will jeopardize their child’s continued enrollment at Holy Cross School.

2018-2019 Rates

The rate table shown below is for the Full Tuition Rates, which is what Holy Cross School would have to charge each student if we offered no discounts.  We offer discounts for active Holy Cross Parishioners and Catholics from other parishes, for multiple children attending Holy Cross School, and a special Catholic Education Adjustment for families having children enrolled in both Holy Cross School and one of the diocesan high schools as a reward for their commitment to Catholic education.

Because of the complexity of showing each possible combination of children along with every potential discount, we have chosen instead to provide you with instructions for calculating your estimated tuition.  Actual tuition depends on the discounts to which you are indeed entitled.  Our Tuition Officer will notify you of your actual tuition in May.

Estimated Tuition Calculation

Step 1 Using the Full Tuition Rates: multiply the rate for Pre-K4 - Half-Day by the number of children
attending; multiply the rate for Pre-K4 through Grade 8 - Full Day by the number of children
attending; add the total for Pre-K4 - Half-Day to the total for Pre-K4 through Grade 8 - Full Day.
Step 2 Multiply the result from Step 1 by the Family Status discounting factor.
Step 3 Multiply the result from Step 2 by the Attending Holy Cross School discounting factor.
Step 4 Multiply the result form Step 3 by the Attending Diocesan High School discounting factor.

An Example of How to Calculate Estimated Tuition

The Smith Family, active Holy Cross parishioners, has 1 child in half day Pre-K, 1 child in Third Grade, 1 child in Fifth Grade, and a Freshman at St. Thomas More.

Step 1 $4,629 x 1 + $6,171 x 2 = $16,971
Step 2 $16,971 X 0.80 = $13,577
Step 3 $13,577 X 0.77 = $10,454
Step 4 $10,454 X 0.90 = $9,409

The Smith Family's estimated tuition is $9,409 for Holy Cross School.
